A Fresh Snowfall Adventure in Manistee
There is nothing better than having a winter adventure when the snow is flying. That is exactly what happened in Manistee. We had made plans to visit Manistee National Golf & Resort. The main reason was because they decided to create snowshoeing trails throughout the golf course. We had been to the course in the summer and knew that it would look great covered in snow.

The trail starts at the Inn, where snowshoes are available to use for no cost, which is great for someone without snowshoes or traveling. Once out on the trail there are three potential loops that essentially make the trail three different lengths. We set out on the largest of the loops and it couldn't have been better conditions. Snow was falling and the setting was perfect.
The second reason we wanted to snowshoe here is that we were told that they had great pizza and specialized in Detroit-style deep dish. of the 4 specialty options, we couldn't decide what to go with, so we got all 4 in the smaller size to try them all. Chicken Bacon Ranch, BBQ Chicken, Pineapple Express and The Balboa. We really enjoyed these pizzas! Here is more about each one.
- Chicken Bacon Ranch
Roasted chicken, smoked bacon, pesto and ranch sauce
- BBQ Chicken
Roasted chicken, BBQ sauce, fresh pico, cilantro and ancho spice
- Pineapple Express
Pineapple, red pepper, jalapeno, onion and hot honey
- The Balboa
Capicola ham, pepperoni, sausage, baby roma tomato, fresh basil and drizzled with a balsamic glaze

After filling up on pizza we headed to downtown Manistee with the snow still flying. Here we decided to check out the riverwalk during winter after typically experiencing it during the warmer weather months. We made our way from the start out to the beach to check out the frozen lighthouse and an icy Lake Michigan shoreline.

While out at the beach we also had to go down the iconic, massive slide on the beach. There are not many left standing like this today! It was also right here that just a few weeks ago we went winter surfing before the ice built up along the shoreline.

Along the way we stopped at Alpine Chocolat Haus for what may be the most amazing hot chocolat ever! The Mayan Spice Hot Chocolat with cinnamon, cayenne and nutmeg. This was the perfect winter warmer for walking around downtown.

We also have to point out a few recent burgers we have had in the area. A go-to for us has become the smashburger from the Outsider. We also had the current winter burger special at North Channel Brewing. A burger basket that includes the burger, fries and a pickle.

Overall we had an amazing winter day in Manistee that included great snow conditions and awesome food! Check out the full video below!
