How To Have An Awesome Summer Day In Ann Arbor

Do you want to have an awesome summer day in Ann Arbor? Well, we had an awesome summer day in Ann Arbor and we are going to share it with you. Let's get started!

First, like all good days, we like to start with a coffee. Ann Arbor has a lot of options and we went with Hyperion. We are big fans of nitro cold brew and it is not something that most coffee shops have. Well, Hyperion has it and it was delicious. Since it was our first time here we had go get a regular coffee too! We always enjoy checking out a coffee shop that also roasts their own coffee. A nice thing about Hyperion is that they have an Ann Arbor location and a Ypsilanti location and their coffee can be ordered on their website.

Next up is to head to Argo Park. From here there are quite a few options on how to spend some time on the water. We brought an inflatable paddleboard and an inflatable kayak for our vessels of choice. If you dont have your own equipment, Argo Park Canoe and Kayak rents kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, tubes and more. The kayaks and tubes are great for the Argo Cascades. More on that coming up!

After getting out on Argo Pond there is plenty to do right there. We decided to paddle all around Argo Pond and up the Huron River before making our way towards the Argo Cascades which was going to be a main spot for the day. The Argo Cascades is made up of a series of 9 small rapids and rock chutes. We have been wanting to paddleboard this type of spot and it was so much fun! We did run after run switching between a paddleboard and a kayak. We sent our picture to our dad and he called instantly to ask where we were.

In this area there are all sorts of options for doing longer downriver paddles as well.

After spending a big part of the day on the water it was time to get something to eat. With endless options, we decided to go to an iconic Ann Arbor spot, Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger. We have been having burgers all over the state and Blimpy Burger was recommended time after time. Our typical go to is usually some sort of classic cheeseburger and any sort of special currently being offered and that is exactly what we did that day.
